Program
Four of the six Sonatas for harpsichord and violin by Johann Sebastian Bach.
Rie Kimura - baroque violin - and Pieter Jan Belder - harpsichord and pianoforte - first collaborated in 2014 on a recording of works by Jacques Duphly (1715-1789). This led to a successful tour of Japan, then they decided to form the duo Belder Kimura.
They explore the repertoire for violin and keyboard instruments of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, focusing on the rhetorical nature of the tonal art of this era - of great influence on Mozart's and Beethoven's oeuvres.
